SITE STRATEGY KNOWLEDGE BASE

Clarity for your land.

Everything you need to know about the Spatial Logic Framework, native regeneration, and the design-first process.

01: THE STRATEGY SESSION
  • A Site Strategy Session is a 90-minute on-site diagnostic of your property’s topography, ecology, and spatial flow. On the Sunshine Coast, sites are often complex (slopes, drainage, bushfire zones). Most homeowners call a landscaper first, which leads to "construction-led" design. This session de-risks your project by providing an independent, technical audit before you commit to expensive builds.

  • Our Site Strategy Sessions are priced from $495 for standard residential blocks. This fee covers 90 minutes of on-site analysis, a hand-drawn functional map, and a follow-up Site Strategy Memo. This is an investment in "construction insurance"—saving you thousands in potential mistakes during the build phase.

  • Within 48 hours, you receive a Site Strategy Memo (PDF). This includes a summary of your site's top 3 constraints, a preliminary functional diagram (the logic of your future garden), a "Workhorse" native species list, and a roadmap for the Master Plan phase.

02: PROCESS & METHODOLOGY
  • The Spatial Logic Framework is our proprietary design methodology based on architectural principles. It prioritizes the function of the space—circulation, privacy, and social zones—before the aesthetics. We map the site's "invisible forces" (sun, wind, drainage) to ensure the garden works like a room of your house, not just a decoration.

  • As a design-only consultancy, we provide 100% independent advice. We do not do the construction. This means we have no incentive to sell you expensive retaining walls or specific materials. Our role is to protect the integrity of your site and your budget, giving you a Master Plan you can use to obtain competitive, "apples-for-apples" quotes from multiple builders.

  • We have an extensive network of premium Sunshine Coast landscape contractors. Once your Master Plan is complete, we can recommend builders who specialize in native construction and high-quality hardscaping to ensure the design is executed perfectly.

03: NATIVE ECOLOGY & REGENERATION
  • Native gardens are high-performance ecosystems. Species indigenous to the Sunshine Coast (from Noosa's Wallum to Maleny's rainforests) are naturally resilient to our humidity and rainfall. They require 70% less water than exotic gardens, zero synthetic fertilizers, and provide critical biodiversity ROI for local bird and insect life.

  • Not when designed with Spatial Logic. We use architectural principles—mass planting, clean lines, and intentional negative space—to create native landscapes that look sophisticated and refined. We bridge the gap between "bushland" and "architecture."

  • Sloping blocks require "Contour-Parallel" thinking. Instead of massive, expensive concrete retaining walls, we use site-responsive grading and "Soil-Binding" native species. Our designs utilize the slope to create vertical interest and natural drainage solutions that are significantly more cost-effective than heavy engineering.

04: PLANNING & LOGISTICS
  • Requirements vary by site. We assess factors like the Bushfire Management (BAL) ratings, overlay constraints, and proximity to protected vegetation. Our Master Plans are designed to meet local Sunshine Coast Council requirements, and we can guide you on when a private certifier or hydraulic engineer is needed.

    1. The Strategy Session: 90 mins on-site (Delivered within 48 hours).

    2. The Concept Phase: 2–4 weeks for functional layout and spatial logic.

    3. The Master Plan: 3–6 weeks for technical drafting and planting schedules.

  • We service the entire Sunshine Coast region, including Noosa, Buderim, Maroochydore, Coolum, Maleny, Montville, and the Mary Valley.
